Cold War tensions 2

The second example of Cold War tensions is the "Arms Race". The arms race between the United States and the USSR was the height of brinkmanship, where one country would develop a new powerful weapon and the other would develop the same weapon or one that was more powerful. For example, when the United States developed the H-bomb it took the Soviets matters of months to make one of their own. Eventually there were no more weapons that could be made, in because of that each country would put their weapons closer and closer to each others boarders. Such as when we put our weapns in Turkey and they put theirs in Cuba.

examples of cold war tentions 1

The space race, a time when the fear of a nuclear war could start at a push of a button and destroy the world as they knew it. The space race began in 1957 when the Soviet Union launched a satellite called sputnik. With the launch of sputnik it demondstrated that the Russans had the technology and the power to send any weapon that they wanted to, to any part of the world that they chose. The Americans tried to make their own satellite but were unsuccful for many years. Finaly on January, 31, 1958 the americans launched a Jupiter C rocket into space. The space race did not end intill 1975 when the United States was the first to land on the moon.

U.S.A's role in the Cold War/ modern day analysis

Americas role in the Cold War was to keep communism from spreading to other parts of the world and to prevent the USSR from starting a nuclear war. They used defencive tactics and political influences to make sure no nuclear war would destroy the world. Americas role can still be seen now in the politacal decisions that Russa and America are makeing. For example President Obama and the Russian President signed a treaty that lowered the number of nuclear weapns and launchers each country can have at one time.

analsyis of the cold war

My Analysis of the cold war is that both of the superpowers were fearless and could have destroyed the would if the tensions wouldn't have lowered. Both nations are to blame for the cold war because they would try to out do one an other. every little thing that each side did was magnified. if one side had an atomic weapon then the other would soon find out and creat one for them selfs.
