examples of cold war tentions 1
The space race, a time when the fear of a nuclear war could start at a push of a button and destroy the world as they knew it. The space race began in 1957 when the Soviet Union launched a satellite called sputnik. With the launch of sputnik it demondstrated that the Russans had the technology and the power to send any weapon that they wanted to, to any part of the world that they chose. The Americans tried to make their own satellite but were unsuccful for many years. Finaly on January, 31, 1958 the americans launched a Jupiter C rocket into space. The space race did not end intill 1975 when the United States was the first to land on the moon.

Nice post; however, The United States was not the first to reach the moon. The Soviet Union actually made it their first; the man's name was Yuri Gagarin.
ReplyDeletesorry to burst your bubble grant(even two years later) but the u.s. was the first to reach the moon. The soviet union was the first to make it in space and yuri was the first man in space
